Rockpool Cottage is a recently refurbished cottage in the village of Port William on a seafront location.  The property is furnished to a high standard and aims to provide a luxurious and comfortable stay for every guest. The house has two upstairs bedrooms, one with a king bed and the other with twin beds which can be made into a superking bed on request. There is one upstairs bathroom (with bath and shower over) and a downstairs WC.   The sitting room has two sofas and a log burner. The dining room has a table with four seats and could be used as a separate work area. The wifi is included and is high speed. The kitchen has all modern appliances including dishwasher, microwave, fridge with small freezer section, washing machine and Nespresso coffeee machine. We have provided books and games for our guests use. Outside is a seating area with table and chairs and a secure, mature garden at the back of the property which includes numerous plants and shrubs.

Rockpool cottage is within walking distance of the beach and the view of the sea from the cottage is stunning in all seasons. Using the cottage as a base, it is an easy drive to the golf courses, deserted beaches, forest walks and hills that the area boasts. It is a perfect base for a well-earned break.

Apple Cottage is a recently refurbished cottage in the centre of the conservation village of Bladnoch. The property is furnished to a high standard and aims to provide a luxurious and comfortable stay for every guest. The house has three bedrooms, two upstairs (one king & one twin which can be made into a superking) and one downstairs (double). There are two bathrooms, both with separate showers and one includes a bath. For relaxing, there is a sitting room with log burner, a television space and a conservatory. The large kitchen includes a kitchen table (seats 6) and a log burner. We have provided books and games for our guests use. There is a large mature garden at the back of the property which includes numerous plants and shrubs as well as several apple trees.  We also have a boules pitch at the bottom of the garden and a foosball table in the conservatory.

Apple cottage is within walking distance of a local pub (Bladnoch Inn), Bladnoch Distillery and visitor entre, as well as Wigtown, Scotland’s National Book Town and is an easy drive to golf courses, beaches, forest walks and hills. It is a perfect base for a well-earned break.

Our cosy cottages are set in a beautiful, peaceful, rural location. We are the only village in our International Dark Sky Park which is why we get such awesome starry nights.  Glentrool is right in the heart of the stunning Galloway Forest and part of the UNESCO designated Biosphere, with trees, streams, lochs and mountains right on the doorstep.

Very comfortable three-bedroomed cottage with two sitting rooms and two bathrooms. This stylish cottage is set up as a writing retreat, with desks and chairs, reading lamps, and extra plug sockets in each room. We also let it as self-catering accommodation and it sleeps six in comfort. The cottage is handy for public transport (a direct bus to Wigtown leaves from our front door) and for the A75. It is easy to find and easy to relax into. Our 25 sqm decking leads onto a grassed meadow and a dry-stone-built barbecue. The two sitting rooms and two bathrooms make it ideal to share with friends or for a tranquil family holiday. We are two-minutes’ walk from the beautiful bridge of Dee and the Threave walks. There is ample off-main-road cycling, amazing kayaking, and lots of beautiful walks.

Creeside Escape Shepherd’s Hut – Experiential, Sustainable and Close to Nature

Fresh air, dark starry skies, peace & quiet whilst staying in a traditional shepherd’s hut on our farm.

Our hut is sited with uninterrupted views of the River Cree and the Galloway Hills in the distance. On warmer summer evenings relax outside and enjoy the beautiful scenery, but if it’s wet and windy retreat inside where you will be warm and toasty beside the wood buring stove.

Our shepherd’s hut sleeps 2 in a double bed. Please ask if you wish to bring additional guests (small charge).There is an en-suite compost WC, but no shower facility. All bed linen and towels are provided, along with blankets for colder days.

There is NO Wi-Fi, very limited phone signal and NO hot tub but what you do have is books, cards, board games and a radio to keep you entertained.

There is a wood burner with a rocking chair, and a basket full of logs (additional can be purchased). There is a small gas stove with kettle and complimentary tea and coffee. Bottled water is provided for drinking. Power is supplied by a solar panel on the hut roof. There is a socket if you do need to charge your phone. No mains electric.

A continental breakfast is available by prior arrangement (additional charge).

Sorry no pets as we are a working farm and sheep may be grazing around the hut at certain times of the year. Off road parking is available. There is a short walk to the hut across a field with no hard path so please wear sensible shoes.

We are open 10 months of the year, closed for lambing during March and April.

Situated on the sea in the small hamlet of Kirkandrews in south west Scotland the cottages are the ideal place to relax and unwind with views looking out over the Solway coast. With beaches on your doorstep as well as opportunities for hill walking, sea fishing, golfing, cycling and water-sports, there’s plenty to keep the whole family occupied. Or perhaps visiting historic castles, renowned gardens and ancient woodland will appeal to you? Kirkandrews Kirk, sitting opposite the cottage, is a unique little kirk (or church) completed in 1906, with parapet and castellated tower resembling a miniature castle.

Set in a charming coastal location, the property is only a short drive from the harbour town of Kirkcudbright, known as ’Scotland’s Artists Town’ and was particularly popular with the Colourists, many of whom lived in the town in the early 1900s. It is a very active and friendly community; visitors to the town can enjoy the variety and number of activities and events held in the area all year round. Shops and restaurants 8 miles, pub 3 miles.

Glenquicken is a working farm with sheep, horses, hens, pedigree Galloway cattle and working dogs. We also run a trout fishery. The farm is open for exploration by our guests and we have an abundance of wildlife with deer, hares, pheasants, ducks, buzzards, hawks and numerous garden birds. We even have our own resident white barn owl.

Our cottages are maintained and furnished to a high standard and all rooms have stunning views of the Galloway countryside. The water in the cottages is supplied by our own spring which rises deep in the hill behind the farm. The water is very pure and clean as it is filtered through Galloway granite and the sand and gravel deposited from a long-gone glacier which once covered our glen. Car parking is available outside the cottages in a private area set aside for this purpose.

We would love to welcome you to The Steading Cottage at Kirkmabreck which has been worked by our family for four generations, almost 100yrs. This recently renovated farm cottage sits in the heart of a busy working, upland farm which breeds native Black face Sheep and Galloway cattle, it is known as The Home of The White Galloway.

The Farm sits on a hillside overlooking the beautiful Wigtown Bay with panoramic views over the “Machars” and out to the Irish Sea and the Isle of Man. It is three miles outside Creetown and ideally placed for anyone wishing to explore this unspoilt coastline and hills.
