Our well-appointed, self-catering holiday cottages are in Wigtownshire, a beautiful and unspoilt part of Dumfries and Galloway, close to the sea, beaches, Wigtown — Scotland’s national book town, the hills of Galloway Forest, Galloway Dark Sky Park and we’re on the South West Coastal 300 (SWC300). We like it so much, we live there too! You pay no booking fees and you can ask the owner any questions you like about the property and the area before you book.

The View.jpg

An outstanding holiday house in the pretty fishing village of Garlieston the name says it all, situated on the front with views over the bowling green to Garlieston harbour and the sea beyond.
The layout ensures that all main rooms have sea views out over the harbour, with the Lake District visible on a clear day, and the traditional town house has been carefully renovated to retain all the character of a period home whilst providing modern accommodation furnished and equipped throughout to a high standard. The house provides very comfortable family accommodation but is equally cosy for a couple on their own.

Park Cottage.jpg

Park Cottage is a former rectory within Galloway House Estate. In 1740 the Earl of Galloway chose this exceptionally sheltered bay to build his mansion and develop a Capability Brown inspired garden. You can still make out the avenue where the rector rode his pony to the mansion house chapel. The stable is now our log store.

Today our visitors can enjoy 23 private acres of this listed landscape with the sea and venerable trees to the east and open fields and the old laundry just visible to the south. Enjoy the summerhouse and watch the fishing boats sailing by or perhaps catch a glimpse of the abundant wildlife in the garden.
