The Steam Packet Hotel in the Isle of Whithorn is situated on the quayside of a picturesque little fishing village right down on the very tip of the south west peninsula of Scotland.

The ‘Packet’ is renowned for its food with an extensive menu served in either bar, lower dinning room or conservatory. The specials menu is changed twice daily and focuses on making use of the best available, local, Scottish produce through the seasons. Unsurprisingly, we specialise in seafood; taking advantage of what the local boats can provide. Lobster, crab, sole and monkfish are just some of the dishes regularly served here.

Pend.jpg

Two centuries younger than its next door neighbour The Pend, Precinct House echoes back to a time when Whithorn’s medieval streets were being refashioned in the Scottish Georgian vernacular style. The house is made up of two buildings joined together by a glass atrium, perfect for sunny indoor dining.

The name refers to an early monastic precinct, which was divided up to make the gardens of later houses. Period fire grates, Georgian furniture and a magnificent four-poster bed create a faithful reconstruction of the house as it originally stood.

Located in Whithorn in the Dumfries and Galloway region, Lintie Cottage features a garden. The accommodation is 27.3 miles from Stranraer.

The holiday home is equipped with a TV.
